Congratulations to Gladys Hartwell probally our oldest member who recently celebrated her 90th Birthday.
Gladys, a regular at all social events at the club, enjoyed a party at her home in Llangoedmor, sharing the date with her son Martin, also a member, who celebtated his 60th birthday on the same day.

Youth Squad Supper

On Saturday 24th January The Youth Section and their parents attended the annual Youth Supper.

The meal was prepared by parents and the logistics of 'Who cooked what and for how many' was skillfully managed by Karen Thomas and Jerry Upton.

By tradition the male Officers of the Club served the meal and many hands made light work of the washing up.

The quiz was won by a team of girl racers and the raffle, organised by the youth members, raised over £100 towards the Youth fund.

A fun evening was had by all even if one of one of our younger members did sleep through the quiz and raffle.

On Tuesday 13th January several sailors spent an enjoyable and informative evening visiting the Coast Guard Centre at Milford as part of a planned series of events the Sailing section are organising for members of the club.

Most members thoughts will possibly not be focused on waterborn activities but your annual renewal subscription should be with you by now.
If it hasn't arrived then check and don't delay as dues must be paid by the end of the month otherwise the penalty for late payment will come into effect.

Your Year Books will arrive in due course with the year's schedule of events, but to give time for planning and possible delays the Social programme is already underway

Yes it was bitterly cold! but with a nice fresh breeze a number of dinghy sailors did go out and race.
Three double manned dinghies crewed by members of the Youth Squad
The Challenger Trimaran sailed by young Daniel Rowlands, who with a brace on his leg was unable to sail his usual Topper and made good use of the club's disabled boat.

The eventual winners were Jonathan Morris and Hanna Campbell in a club Pico

After the race all retired to the club for hot soup and post christmas fare

Youth Sailing

Two events on the run up to Christmas saw TBC well represented

At the Pembrokeshire Activity Centre regatta lots of sailors attended the weekend but alas the wind did not attend. The Christmas fun was present but no sailing throughout the whole weekend.

The following weekend Hanna Campbell was the sole TBC representative at the Regional regatta in Cardiff

The Christmas Lunch was a great success with over 60 members enjoying full Christmas fare and after dinner speeches.

By now most of the cruisers and power boats are out of the water and safely tucked up in the yard.
David Pegg has taken over as Yardmaster and is trying to reorganise the parking to optimist the limited space on the yard.
Please try and give him every support possible.
The job of Yardmaster is one of the most difficult in the club, please try and make his task better by understanding that pleasing everyone all the time is not possible, but pleasing most of the people most of the time is achievable, but only with your co operation and understanding.

New Dinghy Instructors

The recent half term holidays gave the TBC awful weather and hopeless tides but two members of the Youth Squad were able to put their holiday time to good use by attending RYA Dinghy Instructor courses.

The courses which were a week long were held at the Pembrokeshite Activity Centre and I am delighted to report that both passed

and they were both out on the water yesterday, Saturday the 8th, in pretty grim conditions going through their paces

Annual General Meeting - Friday 25th October

This year's AGM was in October rather than November as on previous years.
This was allowed by the recent updating of the Constitution and will allow and extra month before the issue of the Year Book for 2009 for planning, also summer visitors from Patch and elsewhere were able to attend before the winter closes and they all return home.

Congratulations to Harry Ashurst and his wife Joyce on being elected Honorary Life Members of the TBC.

Congratulations also to Sue Schorah, retiring Rear Commodore of the Ladies Section, awarded the 'Club Person of the Year' shield for all her hard work not only over the last year but also many other years.

Changes to the Rules

Voted in by the membership at the AGM
(Full details available in the clubhouse; but briefly)

The 3 year rule relating to boats remaining in the yard and unused for 3 years is now the '2 year' rule reducing the period of time a boat can stay in the yard unused.
and
The introduction of a penalty charge for any boat that remains in the yard for any year without being used on the water.

TBC 2008 Cruiser Championship

The Evans Cup for the overall cruiser Championship for 2008 was presented at the Laying up Dinner.

The overall winner was Islay owned by the TBC President Harry Ashurst.
Unfortunatly Harry was only able to skipper his yacht for the latter part of the season due to a hip operation, but Tony Duckworth stepped up from is normal foredeck responsibilities and took command pending Harry's recovery.
Harry was unable to attend the presention as sadly (ha ha) was on a sailing holiday in the Caribbean so Tony accepted the Trophey on his behalf.

The future for TBC youngsters

Congratulations to both Eilish Thomas and Jonathan Morris who have both been reselected to train as part of the Welsh Topper Squad for the 2009 season.

Hanna Campbell sailing a Topper and William Thomas sailing the smaller 4.2 sail have both won places in the West Wales Regional Squad and will be training with the South Wales Squad through the winter.

Other members of the TBC Youth Squad will be attending Open Training sessions within the region and also specific Community Coaching sessions which will be based at the TBC.

Let us all hope that the winter is not too cold and this extra effort involving lots of travelling for parents prepares our youngsters for the 2009 season.

RYA Youth Zone Championships

The RYA Youth Zone Championships were held at Pwllheli on the weekend of the 27th/28th September.
Five young sailors travelled from the TBC to compete in a fleet of 67 boats from both near and far.
Eilish Thomas and Jonathan Morris our National Squad sailors finished in the top ten of the Topper competition and Hanna Campbell came 12th and won the prize for being the highest placed sailor new to this level of competition.
William Thomas won the trophy for the first Topper with the 4.2/reduced sailad Harry Upton sailing in an Optimist sailed particularly well beating some of the sailors selected to sail for Wales in his class.

So TBC youngsters returned with two trophies and two finishes in the top ten.

Fun Day - August Bank Holiday Monday

Fun Day was most definitly Fun and the TBC was packed.
It was great to see so many people, many of them visitors but also lots of members, both old and new, turn out to support the club.
The car park was full, the stalls laden with goodies and the cake stall soon denuded of more cakes than the average cake shop could display. The kitchen did a roaring trade as did the RNLI and lots of children left with faces painted to portray any number of familiar and some weird creatures, some people even won coconuts.
The Sandcastle competition was a success, even if the judge might have been a bit tired having only arrived in Cardigan in the early hours. The Beach races were run, or walked, or in the case of the sack race hopped.
We all made the best of our 'non summer' weather and everyone went home happy.

Celtic Longboats round Cardigan Island

The Rowing section of the TBC were blessed with fine weather and even sunshine for their 'Invitation Row Round The Island' on Sunday 24th - Bank Holiday weekend
Six boats in all with visitors from Tenby, Newport and elsewhere joined the two TBC based longboats on a lovely sunny afternoon for 'social row' accompanied by the club rib as pathfinder and safety cover.
One of the local boats suffered from rudder problems and had to return early but all the other boats had an enjoyable trip out into the bay and a safe return.
The remainer of the afternoon was spent supporting the bar and sampling the delights of the club's new BBQ.
The event was intended as a dry run for a possible Longboat League race to be hosted next year.
We all look forward to further events as it is nice to be able to welcome visitors to the TBC

Various Officer and Management Committee positions we need to be filled to guarentee the continued smooth running of the TBC and you are all asked to consider yourselves for vacant posts.

The Hon Treasurer will be retiring after fours years and this is a vital post.
Many organisations have had to resort to paid book keepers to full fill this role and the TBC will be in a similar situation if no volunteer is forthcoming.
The role requires time and enthusiasm, but no technical background - assistance and training will be given to anyone prepared to undertake this rewarding role.

The Sailing Meeting agreed to postpone the Secretaries race from Bank Holiday Monday when there will be little water to the following weekend and possibly and all day event.

The H & H is the last Cruiser event of the season and has been confirmed as taking place on the 6th September

Junior Sailing - Tues 5th - Fri 8th August

Twenty youngsters turned up on the Tuesday.
Light winds and naturally RAIN saw much 'tacking' and 'avoiding of collisions' in the river by the club slipway everyone had a turn and everyone had a smile on their face by the end of the session.
Great fun was had by all and those didn't get wet from the river got wet from the rain

Wednesday - Twenty Five youngsters turned up to a howling gale
Too windy for novices so experienced sailors took novices out for a sail - all the novices had a go on the tiller and not all the experienced sailors, who by this time had become crew, got a soaking.
The session ended with two teams on Picos with furled sails racing against each other - any means of propulsion allowed (I forget who won)

Thursday - The sun shone and a lot of drifting and an introduction to Gybing was experienced

Friday - The Optimist fleet under the supervision of John Leigh enjoyed a final session honing their newly aquired skills.
The Toppers and Picos raced - initially two up and then six laps of a triangular course taking turns to sail the boats single handed. All had to come alongside the Safety Boat to change crews and many of the change overs were a bit manic.
In the end the tide beat us all and most of us walked our boats through the ever softer sand to the slipway.

A great week was had by all - many thanks to the members who volunteered their time to help out and make the sessions as much fun as they were.

Open Day on July 26th

Lovely to see as many people as there were turn up to find out what was going on and to sample the kitchen fare.
Thanks to the Ladies committee who worked so hard and for such long hours (and made so much money for the club)
Try a Sail - open to youngsters between the age of 8 and 16 proved to be a great success with many enjoying their first experince of sailing under the careful tuition of Emma Thomas and Annie Thomas - many turned up on the following day to build on their new found skills and new memberships have been applied for.

This was a good day for the TBC and great to see so much activity both on and off the water

Dinghy Regatta - 12th July

We were very fortunate the weather was kind to us.

With two courses -

Slow handicap (mainly Oppies and Toppers ) racing in the head of the river - Four races held and

Fast Handicap (Lasers and RS Feva) racing from the channel into the head of the river and back into the channel to finish. - Three races held.

There was a good consistant fresh breeze, the rain stayed away, the sun even poked its face out and the water lasted - just!

Aberaeron Weekend for Cruisers

The Met Office had issued its weather warning and the wind was threatening to blow the boats out of the water but as the wind was from the east the brave decision was made and on Friday 4th July on the morning tide four cruisers started their scheduled race to Aberaeron.

The conditions made for a swift passage north to Aberaeron -
Line honours went to Pascanale, skippered by Alan Cooper in just over 3 hours and 35 minutes
Just less than half and hour later Islay arrived followed closely by Jigsaw and Cariad

After corrections allowing for handicap the results of the Aberaeran Passage Cup were-

1st Islay - Skipper - Tony Duckworth
2nd Pascanale - - Alan Cooper
3rd Cariad - - Alun Jones
4th Jigsaw - - Roy Constant

A most enjoyable evening was spent in Aberaeron Yacht Club, being wined and dined by members of Aberaeron, with the TBC crews being joined by Harry Ashurst (TBC President) and his wife Joyce, who travelled up by car.

After a generous breakfast care of members of Aberaeron the boats contemplated the race back to Cardigan this leg of the weekend being 'The Aeron Plate'
Alas no members of Aberaeron were able to join the race due to previous commitments but Eroica with Frazer McMillian and crew did join the fleet.

The journey down was considered to be in challenging conditions as was reflected in the line times.
Again Pascanale took the line honours in two hours and fiftyeight minutes swiftly followed by Islay, Carriad, Eroica and Jigsaw.

Jigsaw retired enroute having problems trying to reef (essential in the conditions) and Carriad opted for the direct route through the sound at Cardigan Island, which you're not suppose to do.

All boats then had to stand off on a lee shore round the head from Cardigan Island waiting for the tide to arrive and allow then access to their births.

A great couple of days was had by all with the hope that Aberaeron boats might be able to visit TBC late season to allow return of hospitality

Regatta for Cruisers and Day Boats

The weather threatened to be awful the seas were certainly a bit lumpy but the weekend of the 28th/29th June was a definite success

13 Day Boats -Drascombes, Storms, Bay Raiders- from all over the country, with one couple travelling from Holland, enjoyed a weekend of; racing, cruising and socialising.
The sea state forced a last minute change of plans and a race from the channel up river and back to the pontoon at Patch was substituted for the planned race round Cardigan Island and beach landing at Poppit.
A mass stop at Prince Charles Quay in the town caused much amusement to passers by in the town centre and opportunity for refreshments at the Grosvenor for the sailors, which did delay racing progress (but Day Boat sailing has always been rather rlaxed).
Seamanship skills were tested including the local skill of 'getting out and pushing the boat off the sand' when straying from the main fairway.
There was a result-
Drascombe Trophy to 'Spindrift' skipperd by John Leigh from the TBC
Swallow Boats Trophy to Will West and Ian Jones in their Storm 17
The Club Burgee for Effort and Achievement was won by Michael rogers in his Storm petrel
'Cadenza'

Eight boats registered for the 'Captain James Trophy' race in the bay.
However only five made it to the start line; two boats remained stuck fast on their moorings due to the lack of water on the neap tide and a further boat had a rigging problem prior to startingand was forced to retire.
The remaining boats enjoyed a good race in a fresh breeze and very lumpy sea

The Day Boats trailled to Aberporth and enjoyed the day cruising with a beach picnic, finally returning to the TBC for a Welsh High Tea before returning to all points North, South, East but not West.

Engines Stolen

Overnight of Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd June four outboard engines were stolen from the TBC yard.
Three of the engines were from Safety Boats and one from a members boat parked nearby.

The loss to the club is considerable and although they were all insured it will take time to process claims and purchase and fit new engines.

The safety cover for the Cruiser and Day Boat Regatta on 28th/29th July became a serious issue and consideration whether to cancel the Dinghy Regatta on the 12th July was in the forefront of all our minds.
All Youth Sailing had to be cancelled with immediate effect but fortunatly after the generousity of a member loaning the use of a suitable engine for the orange safety boat, sailing can continue in a limited fashion until the replacements arrive.

Engines stolen were - Mariner 60hp EFI (almost brand new) from the back of the new RIB
plus a 15hp and 20hp Honda outboards.

Please be mindful if offered, or buying, second hand outboard engines to check the provenance. The serial numbers of all the clubs boats are recorded with the Police and as they all carry chips -in theory they cannot be serviced or maintained by a boni fide agent without it becoming aware they are stolen.

The Police operate a 'Boat Watch' scheme - the forms are available in the club so use them.

WELL DONE TBC YOUTH SQUAD

The final Regatta of the CYRCs was held at Pembrokeshire Yacht Club on the 15th July
After consistance results throughout the whole series the TBC were rewarded with well earned honours.

Optimist class

Harry Upton - 1st having won at every location
Harvey Upton - 2nd an excellect result for a very young sailor

Topper class

Hanna Campbell - 3rd with limited time on the water, a brilliant result.
Daniel Rowlands - 4th first year on the racing circuit, very well done

Handicap fleet

Aled (helm) and Mathew (crew) Parsons - 2nd overall in their RS Feva in only their first year racing and first year in the Feva

Eventually the first Cruiser race of the season did get underway.

Saturday 7th June

Light and somewhat fickle winds gave the crews of the six competing boats rather difficult conditions on the initial leg to Fishguard of the Constant Cup.
Boats on the inshore route fell into unexpected black holes of windless conditions and those sailing further offshore looked to have the better winds even if following a longer and more tactical course.
Cariad blasted from the start line and at one point other crews thought the next time they might see her skipper would be in the bar later in the day, however a 'doldrum' aproaching Fishguard Harbour forced an unwanted delay to her progress and with other boats almost on her heels, the wind picked up and she was able to lead the charge across the line.

The President - Harry Ashurst and his wife Joyce accompanied by the Rear Commodore Sailing - Robin Young were forced to drive to Fishguard where a very nice evening was spent in Fishguard Yacht Club with a excellent meal provided by the ladies of FYC.

The following day - planned as leg two of the event was abandoned due to light winds and the need to make the mid morning tide on return to Cardigan.

The Race then being decided on the single outward leg - winner - Cariad

Thanks to Roy Constant and his wife Betty for providing a perpetual cup for this event and Roy even managed to come third in his new boat Jigsaw

Not only a fearless sailor, with his brother, in their DS Feva .

Aled Parsons - Pupil at the local secondary school in Cardigan with three other pupils came top in a national science competition.

The local quartet proved their talents in forensic science as part of the Salters Institute of chemistry at Aberystwyth University.

The Constant Cup

This weekend, 7th and 8th June, was scheduled for the Interclub meeting at Fishguard combining the Constant Cup cruiser race.
Alas the Interclub Meeting has been cancelled/postponed but the Constant Cup is due to go ahead.

The Constant Cup is a cruiser race of two legs scheduled over seperate days.
Leg One is the race from Cardigan to Fishguard and Leg Two the return trip.
Weather conditions look fair for the weekend and with a probable pre race briefing this Friday things look 'all go'.

International Moths are the development class dinghies which are now using foils (Foiling Moths) to lift the actual hulls of the boat out of the water and are now the fastest dinghies on the water, or should I say over the water.

Leo Carswell a member of the TBC has recently bought a non foiling (displacement) moth and will be sailing in the championships this weekend.
The front of the fleet will be dominated by the Foilers but others like Leo have entered just for the fun of it and we wish him and all the other sailors all the best for what will be a very interesting regatta.

Topper Traveller at Red Wharf Bay

Three young TBC Topper sailors travelled to Anglesea for the Nationwide Topper Traveller Series held at Red Wharf Bay Sailing Club.

This is a national series of regattas open to all Topper sailors from far and wide.
The event took place over the weekend of the 31st May and 1st June.

Our two National Squad sailors Eilish Thomas and Jonathan Morris plus William Thomas with his 4.2 reduced sail Topper competed in the event.

Congratulations on excellent results:

William Thomas - Awarded the 'Best Young Sailor' award

Severe Weather Warning

The Met office issued a Severe weather warning for the weekend of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May and yes it did effect us all.

Solva - will it ever happen?

The postponed Solva (Cardigan Windows sponsored) Cruise was scheduled for this weekend.
Not a good choice - Pre event briefing during the week made the wise decision to postpone again.
A decision vindicated by the wind conditions when it did arrive.
David Pegg decided to host a BBQ on the foreshore at St Dog's and everyone had a good time - no broken boats and and no sea sickness.
Watch this space for maybe another try later in the season.

Youth Squad at Dale

The penultimate CYRC was schedule for this weekend at Dale Yacht Club and the TBC youngsters were there.
Did the first race start - not quite.
Everyone was on the water enroute for the start line when the wind kicked in - the fleet suffered a massive knockdown and safety became the order of the day. Boats were abandoned to be collected later and younsters were rounded up and brought safely to the shore.
Racing was abandoned and Dale Yacht club must be commended for their prompt and effective action in that no one suffered any injuries and only minor damage was caused to a few boats. (sorry to Huw Parsons, father of Mathew and Aled, the boy's Feva did need minor repairs and Huw now feels that he must be a major investor in RS the makers of Fevas)
Obviously no results and the only other comment from the day was from Harry Upton, who revels in windy conditions, he sailed his Optimist back to the shore and casually enquired what all the fuss was about.

Youth Squad at Saundersfoot CYRC

Youngsters from TBC Youth squad continued their successful run at the West Wales Club Youth Racing Circuit series on Saturday 17th May at Saundersfoot

The Upton brothers Harry and Harvey continued their dominance of the Optimist fleet - Harry, suffered a broken block holding up his sprit, on the third race and was forced to retire - this allowed younger brother Harvey to slip into the winning position with Harry second overall. With two more events in the series to go this will lead to an interesting family situation. Edward the third and youngest brother is just starting to sail and next year will no doubt will be up and competing - watch out for sparks!!

The top end of the Topper fleet was as usual fiercely fought. Hanna Campbell came an excellent third and Daniel Rowlands was close behind coming fifth. William Thomas was the leading sailor in the reduced 4.2 sail competition.

In the open fleet Mathew and Aled Parsons in their RS Feva posted a third overall.

With Regattas at Dale and Pembrokeshire Yacht Club still to come TBC youngsters have shown what a small club can do with a bit of determination.

BISTRO TEIFI

What an enjoyable evening Saturday the 10th at the Boating Club was - the dining area was transformed into a French Bistro complete with French newspapers, check table cloths and cafe music.
The evening kicked off with Kir Royalle Aperitif on arrival and a game of 'French Connections' (TBC rules apply) just to get everyone in the mood.
A traditional starter of either Pate or French Onion Tart was followed by either Coq au Vin or Normandy Pork, nicely rounded off with Crepes or Pots au Chocolat.

The Ladies Section excelled them selves with the food and are to be congratulated.

The men cleared tables and took responsibility for the washing up - enthusiastically led to the sink by Barry 'Where are the Marigolds' Appleby - the Rear Commodore Sailing was rather confused by the system of operation of tea towels for drying up, but eventually got the hang of it and was later heard to enquire whether the R.Y.A. had a suitable certificate to reward his efforts, as they have certificates for everthing else.

A really good evening - enjoyed by all

Solva Trip - Cancelled

The 'Cardigan Windows' sponsored Cruiser trip to Solva - scheduled for the Bank Holiday weekend of the 2nd - 5th May has been cancelled.
Delays have meant that only a few cruisers have been launched and the decision has been made to postpone the event, possibly until the Bank Holiday Weekend at the end of May.
Possible new dates will be discussed at the sailing meeting on the 14th May (or possibly before) and if you have any comments please make contact with either- Rear Commodore Sailing - Robin Young, Sailing Secretary - John Leigh or Cruiser Captain - Alan Cooper.

We must make every effort to insure the continuance of this ever popular event.

Welsh Youth Championships - Pwllheli - 26/27 April

Five TBC young sailors took part in the Welsh Youth Championships held over the weekend of the 26th and 27th April at Pwllheli Sailing Club.

Eilish Thomas - Topper
Hanna Campbell - Topper
Jonathon Morris - Topper
Daniel Rowlands - Topper
William Thomas - Topper 4.2

Day one with blustery conditions (18 knot Southerly) saw 105 sailors take to the water with 4ft waves and dolphins joining in - four races were held.

Day two started with no wind but after a 2 hour delay for bacon butties the wind managed a fickle 5 knots and a single race was competeted.

Jonathon (12th overall) and Eilish (18th overall) raced well and justified all the time spent on the water, the future looks bright.

Hanna (35th overall) and Daniel (41st overall) did extremely well but in a fleet of this size and high standard their lack of experience gave them a difficult task and they should be proud of this their first performance at a national level.

William with his smaller sail (he is still only 10yrs) sailed in the regatta fleet and must be commended for his efforts against much older competitors with faster sail configurations.

The TBC youngsters are all at the younger end of the age scale and will several years remaining in the youth ranks promises to the future are positive.

W.Y.A. Regional Championships at Pwllheli

This weekend 26th/27th the Welsh Yachting Assoc. (WYA) are holding their annual Regional Youth Championships at Pwllheli.
TBC youngsters will be competiting, both individually and as members of The West Regional Squad. We wish them the very best for what will be a most testing weekend.

Launching Supper on Saturday 19th

A full clubhouse enjoyed a very lively evening.
After an excellent sit down buffet I was able to talk long enough that the masses were suitably warmed up for an entertainment by members of the Youth Squad.
We enjoyed - Music, Poetry, Jokes a Session of lateral thinking exercises and even a bit of Culture with a spirited reading from The Tempest.
The President rounded off the evening with a sincere thank you and everyone went home with a smile on their faces.

Now all we need are a few more boats on the water

THE NEW SAFETY BOAT IS HERE

It was worth waiting for - the new safety boat has arrived and has already had its initial trip into the bay.

The new Safety Boat arrived today and we managed to catch the late tide before the evening closed in. Despite a cold easterly wind the we had a good test run (still running in) and my what a joy to behold.

Today the Youth squad attended the 1st of the WYA West Wales Regional Youth racing circuit events, (CYRCs) hosted by Fishguard Yacht Club.
Three seperate fleet races each of three races- I am delighted to report that the TBC youngsters excelled themselves

OPTIMIST -

1st Harry Upton TBC with three straight wins
3rd Harvey Upton TBC with two thirds and a second

TOPPERS -

1st Hanna Campbell TBC with three straight wins
4th Daniel Rowlands TBC
William Thomas TBC came 8th overall and 1st in the reduced sail (4.2) competition

MIXED FLEET/HANDICAP

2nd Wyn Jones TBC in a laser came 2nd with two seconds and a third
Mathew and Aled Parsons TBC in their RS Feva sailing in their first competitive event improved in each race and have gained valuable experience which will stand them in good stead for future events.

Couple of Youth sailors went out on Thursday in Toppers in good conditions.

Friday - Force four with plenty of gusts - Youth Sailing Pico and Feva went out both three up and enjoyed greating sailing in very challenging conditions, several capsizes but no broken parts or people. Harvey went out in an Optimist and managed a 'dry sail' in conditions that would have many indoors.

Saturday - Final day of the WYA West Wales Winter Training programme had to be cancelled due to severe wind conditions and eventually we cancelled sailing at TBC at 0930.

Sunday - Closing regatta for the Winter Training as above - TBC youngsters attended Congratulations to William Thomas 10yrs in his Topper who won all three races in the 4.2 sail competition

The annual Lifeboat coffee morning held on Easter Monday was a great success and even the weather was kind with the rain staying away.
The Club House was full to bursting and I'm assured that everyone was very generous to t very worthy cause.

Easter Weekend

Last weekend was a disaster weather wise - for once I was glad that the tides gave us little hope of sailing.
Youth sailing at the end of the week and at the weekend many Youth sailors will be attending the final WYA West Wales training session at PYC (Pembrokeshire Yacht Club) on the Saturday, our instructors Heledd and Emma will be coaching.
On the Sunday will be the final day regatta - good sailing to all TBC Youth Sailors

Sorry it was not to be.
Poor Lynne the caterer was rushed to hospital - I'm glad to report she is now home after a night of observation but obviously the Lunches had to go.
